Description of Works: As part of a major refurbishment programme to 10 floors of the Civic Centre, RIS were appointed Principal Contractor to carry out the asbestos removal and soft strip to the 8th and 9th floors. The remainder of the building, ground to 7th and 10th floor, remained in operation/occupied throughout our works. Our works were carried out over a 14 week period working 7 nights per week. Working nights allowed minimal disruption to council staff. The work involved the removal of internal GRP cladding to the perimeter of the floors, decontamination and safe storage for future use.
